In what has become an industry tradition, 11 cruise ships were on hand in Funchal to welcome in 2026 in Portugal, with guests and crew getting a front row seat to the city’s fireworks display.
TUI Cruises had three of its vessels there, including the new Mein Schiff Relax, alongside the Mein Schiff 3 and the Mein Schiff 7.
Funchal also saw the AIDAbella and Phoenix Reisen’s Artania, as well as Fred. Olsen’s Bolette and P&O’s Arcadia.
Other visitors include the Saga Cruises fleet, which includes the Spirit of Discovery and the Spirit of Adventure, plus the Ambience from P&O. Marella Cruises was present with the Marella Voyager.
Some ships were docked at the city’s cruise berths, while some were at anchor.
