Titanic’s Last Port of Call

.

Cobh, Ireland, known from 1849 until 1920 as Queenstown is associated with the RMS Titanic, which was built in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It was the final port of call for the RMS Titanic before she set out across the Atlantic.

Another ship to be associated with the town, the Cunard passenger liner RMS Lusitania, was sunk by a German U-boat.

I visited Cobh on a ‘classic’ little Ocean liner called the ‘Marco Polo’, which was built in  1965, making her one of the older ocean passenger ships still in operation.
